World Hepatitis Day 2021: Virtual Point of Care Test Training
Time & Location
About The Event
This year for World Hepatitis Day on July 28th, BC Hepatitis Network will be hosting a virtual hepatitis C point-of-care test training for interested community-based organizations, led by BCHN Peer Programs Lead Daryl Luster.
Since November 2019 we have been hosting community hep C antibody screening events alongside community based organizations around the province when possible, as well as hosting virtual training for CBOs. Bringing hep C point of care testing to your organization or group is a way to help begin the process of linking people affected by hepatitis C to care in your community—it requires just a small drop of blood from a finger-stick: anyone can learn how to do it, and we’ll help you throughout the process! (Learn more about our point of care test training program.)
Join us the last Wednesday in July at 3 pm PDT on Zoom to learn the process of point of care testing for hep C, and learn about running screenings in your community. The training will take about 30 minutes, but if you can stay longer, we’d love to have additional time for Q&A and sharing ideas with one another!
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, July 14, 2021—this ensures we are able to mail test kits out to everyone.
In your email please let us know: -How many people will be participating (and names if possible) -The name of your organization -The mailing address where test kits should be sent -If you’d like us to send brochures about our peer support helpline, Help4Hep BC, for your distribution to clients
You can also register by calling Daryl at Help4Hep BC, toll-free: 1-888-411-7578.
If you or your team have questions, please reach out to Daryl by phone or email.
We look forward to seeing you on July 28!
